Roughly speaking, Mike writes Lew-universe stories and I write Nigel-universe stories. I think the only opportunity I've had to write Amy has been "Return to the Death Egg" though. (Incidentally, I consider two of my stories Lew-universe stories, both written before we settled on who was doing which. I wonder if anyone can guess which...)

As Ed says, Amy always was a tough and fiesty character (and she seemed to have picked up her crossbow skills pre-Freedom Fighters, since she's adept with it in Sonic Terminator part 1). She just liked to wind Sonic up (or was it all a wind-up, bwa ha ha...) and had the misfortunate of running into stronger forces & getting captured three consecutive times.
Having Troopers burst in on her without warning, how's she meant to fight that? Captain Plunder- well, he is a formidable figure to get into a punch-up with and she was caught saving Tails; she later ends up brokering the short-lived Sonic/Plunder team-up. And Metallix... it's Metallix! One of those guys totalled the entire Chaotix in seconds, what chance does an unarmed Amy have?
"Just Like Old Crimes", being a Tails-VS-supercrooks story, and "R.B.R." due to its Lew-esque witches and the almighty Brutus.

"Just Like Old Crimes", being a Tails-VS-supercrooks story, and "R.B.R." due to its Lew-esque witches and the almighty Brutus. Well done, that man! Although the Tails story is under the umbrella of Lew's material for three reasons: 1. I wanted to break from Nigel's presentation of Nack, which I never liked very much. I always thought Lew should handle Nack. 2. I could draw in comparisons to Shortfuse which seemed more helpful to the story. 3. It was building on the back of Lew's Tails stories rather than Nigel's so it made sense to continue that. I always saw Nigel's Tails as a little closer to Bilbo Baggins. Although I believe Nigel's analogy of choice was Piglet.

1. I wanted to break from Nigel's presentation of Nack, which I never liked very much. I always thought Lew should handle Nack. He does seem like he'd be perfect for Lew, doesn't he? Personally, I found it odd that Nack is meant to be a technology genius but eventually he ends up just using shrinking gases. This is the guy who built the Disruptor that killed the Brotherhood of Metallix (who got better)! He should have a better Arsenal than canisters!

I suspect the problem was that Nigel never found the character very interesting and only brought him in because of 'popular demand' and that sort of thing.

Another plot hole anyone?
Sonics world story last metamorphia appearance. Metamorphia turns into a hedgehog and pretends to be sonics long lost brother. This is challenged by sonic with him saying he is unique.
If he is unique then what is Amy.
Also in metamorphias second appearance he turned into a green hedgehog. Surely sonic would be suspicious knowing he is "unique"
One last thing in the Shanazar series in Space Race Sonic goes up against a hedgehog called turbo.

Actually, Turbo's an alien that looks suspiciously like a hedgehog, in the same way most comic-book aliens look suspiciously like humans in funny clothes.

He probably ment that he is the only child in his family and as far as he knows he is unique, he maybe didnt know what amy was like in her past. Havnt seen the shanaz saga yet.

According to #88 or whichever it was. Spot on! He is mentioned twice, once by megadroid and again at the end part for "next issue" Its funny, but I never noticed before at how speedlines was never really about the writters. They ask question which are all geared around a public response, at times the answer will miss out a comment, as if they want the readers to write in and say something about it. ;D Just me being slow, I suppose it was a way for them to get a public response to the comic, after all they didnt have a forum.

I liked Nack and could easily see how he could gain some popularity. He was the good guy turned bad. Only, he was never really that much of a good guy.
He definitely had more of an edge to him that some of the older Characters.
He does seem like a fitting foe for Tails rather than for Sonic and he'd also work against Tekno/Shorty etc pretty well. Sonic wouldn't really feel any threat from Nack - Considering to what scales Sonic has actually defeated enemies at.
If Sonic can't consider him a threat, the readers wont either.

Have to agree with that. Tekno, Shorty and Tails are more his sort of foe. Just Like Old Crimes made Nack far more of a threat to me than any of his bouts with Sonic since he was fighting someone he could beat (and did!).
Oddly the Chaotix hardly ran into him...

I think you're reading into the text too much here. Sonic means "Unique" in the sense "I'm number one, there's only one Sonic". Not "There's only one hedgehog." Also, correct me if i'm wrong but Metamorphia's REAL last appearance was when she attacked Tails disguised as a badnik and finally transformed into a little girl. Probably.

She was also conjured up by Robotnik in an alternate reality in #130, where she pretended to be Tails - but I can understand why you might not count that.

She appeared in "Cybernik Strikes Back", which was a Sonic's World story that appeared a few months after that one.

I was reading issue #100 yesterday and it sort of dawned on me... Why wasn't Zachary affected by the EMP? He was rebuilt with badnik technology, and every one of them went offline, even the cyberniks. Surely it would have stopped him from functioning in some way?

I guess it didn’t affect him cause his metal parts where controlled by a organic brain or something like that…

Wasn't her last ever appearance in 'Showdown', in issue 130?
