If its like MK 64, I might buy it. If its like the others, I might buy it for my brother for his birthday/christmas.

...but what would the second drive?! Doesn't Musashi ride a horse at some point in Shinobi 3?

I swear I've seen a screenshot somewhere of him on a surfboard. Give him one of the hoverboards from Sonic Riders. Sorted.

Apparently you did! Though it looks more like some sort of engine is attached. Blizz is quite right too, there is a shot of him on a horse.

I think he's in a car because this is like a remake of Sonic Drift. Just kart racing tradition.

I don't think the idea of Sonic being in a car is the worst thing that could happen. I mean its only for consistency. In Riders people complained that Sonic shouldn't need any kind of vehicle. But that's not the point of it. Besides he's always being displayed as a fast learner and master of all methods of getting somewhere fast besides running.
But wait....where are all the other Characters? I'm missing the All Stars portion. I'm sure Amigo and AiAi can't be all they've got.

They've got Alex Kidd and Beat as well. Hopefully they'll announce more, but it will inevitably be more Sonic characters.

I wish there would be at least one Skies of Arcadia character in this.
Ulala was in the Tennis game so maybe she'll show up here too.

What, like Vyse in a mini Delphinus?

It'll be all the characters from Tennis, surely? At the very least.

I kinda doubt Reala, Pudding, MeeMee and Gum will be in the game. I hope I'm wrong as far as Gum and Reala are concerned.
Apparently someone from Sumo did say there would be 7, count them, 7 Sonic characters in the game. Knuckles is the 7th.

It really should come as no surprise that Sonic characters dominate the roster in this game - or that they did in the Tennis game either. Sonic's the only recognisable character in there for anyone who has been born in the past 10 or so years (y'know, the target audience?).
Sega haven't made a decent new IP in a very long time, and they've utterly ignored all their classic IPs since the days that made them classic. Constantly re-releasing the original games is not enough to get new kids into them, and frankly, we should be counting ourselves lucky characters like Alex Kidd get anywhere near ANY game any more.
God knows it's the reason Ristar is probably going to continue to not be in this game. :/

'Cept Virtua Fighter and House of the Dead, though they seem to be largely the preserve of the hardcore fanboys of late. Oh, and Outrun. And there have been new Sega Rallys and After Burners in the last few years, but they seem to have been largely ignored. On a vaguely related note, apparently there's a new Shining Force on DS that's rather fine, but no plans to release it outside Japan. Come on, guys!

I wouldn't say they haven't released many new IPs, but more they're not child-friendly enough and wouldn't fit in.
Besides Sonic, these days you just have House Of The Dead, Virtua Fighter and Yakuza. Something tells me that Kazuma Kiryu wouldn't be too appropriate.

Things like the HOTD characters sitting around in cars would just feel utterly weird. Brawl kinda got away with Snake, but thats cause it's Snake, MGS has always had a little tinge of humourous mismatching in some places. Not to mention Kojima is clinically insane. In short, I just mean that MGS is a series used to being a bit daft with itself for a laugh, while, as much as Overkill is crazy in it's own way, it's not the type required to land itself in a Sega cartoon racer. ...see now I just see Snake crouched into a tiny gokart dropping landmines on the course and thinking about whether love can blossom on the racetrack.

They could totally make a HOTD style track though. Not sure though that'd work....

You'd have everyone zipping through the Curien mansion and grounds, passing zombies and monsters and such. And some of them would throw axes and barrels at you.

You say it with tongue in cheek, but the Cyborg Ninja cameo'd in Konami Krazy Racers. I just had a brainwave. Welkin from Valkyria Chronicles, racing in a turbo-boosted Eidelveiss. Yes? ...yes?

I thought VC was by Atlus?... *checks Wiki* Well fancy that! I still approve of the suggestion of...someone...a few pages back to have Bayonetta riding a vehicle made of her own hair. And on that note, since The Creative Assembly is, I believe, owned by Sega these days, let's have the Spartan from Total Warrior riding a miniature Trojan horse.
