That tweet appeared just now. Roughly translates into: mysterious sillhouettes. Who are they, friend or foe? Find out more information on the 30th!I see generic sexyhips female character shape there. But yeah, seems we’ll be getting some more info appearing soonish. Edit: and here's a bolder image from SEGA's facebook account-

Hmmm, intriguing. The general shape reminds me of the Dark Gaia monsters, but yes I recognise the female figure there. Gotta have a token girl, haven't we?! Still not sure what to think. I do still would like to see the current cast fleshed out a bit, but having Sonics friends as guardians would be a bit weird.... if this is an alien planet...

To be fair on generic sexyhips there is a giant tumour head as well. Going for the Silent Hill crowd maybe?
Also - they are all Pikachu... in a sombrero.

WE'VE GOT HYPE SIIIIIIGN!Hmm, the girl figure kinda reminds me of Scanty and Kneesocks.... as in the horn in the middle of the head and green hair. Also I'm wondering if these will be DBZ-style bad guys. They're your enemies, until you beat the living crap out of them, then they become your buddies and fight with you...

Hmm, the girl figure kinda reminds me of Scanty and Kneesocks.... as in the horn in the middle of the head and green hair. I said the exact same thing!! There are people moaning that Sonic doesn't need more characters, apparently. Honestly, if these new characters present a new way to play the game, I don't see why they shouldn't just include more. Mario does it to great effect. Plus, none of these look "original character do not steal". It seems like they're taking inspiration from Colours, actually! Alien planet, strange new creatures...

They kinda make me think of Skylanders. That could just be previous rumors clouding my judgement though.

they do look like some of the monsters on sonic unleashed but the one in the middle looks like the leader of them and if you look harder they look like a biker gang

Second from the left (next to sexyhips) has a sort of "vector if he was a chinese dragon" sort of shape - having a character with flame breath could be interesting... What is going on with the character next to him? Is he standing on somthing? Some sort of yoda balancing act?

Looks very much like a cross between Super Mario Galaxy and Sonic Xtreme to me. Interesting seeing them mix up the gameplay mechanics for this outing, so I'll definitely give it a whirl.
Even if the bad guys look like a 90s corporate logo.

Jesus. The last thing I thought they'd ever do is summon the ghost of X-Treme.
It doesn't look bad. Seems to essentially be the same Hedgehog Engineness from Unleashed, Colours and Generations, but the 3D stuff also throws the bendy tube jazz of X-Treme into the mix (for some reason).
It's not the best looking thing in the world because of the weird X-Treme level design, but it looks like there's a lot of new approaches to basic Sonic gameplay as part of that, so it at least may well earn its place.
The new enemies look hella generic and dull, though. I'm hoping they're actually Sonic's friends turned into weird demon thingies, as it's basically the only thing that'd make them vaguely interesting. Was hoping for a bit more classic Robotnik villainy, though.

Looks a bit like a stage-ified version of the special stages. It's a take I certainly wasn't expecting, but nevertheless seems a positive development. The new enemies certainly look cartoony, albeit a little unfitting within the context of the franchise.
Also, is it about sticky-time for the thread yet?

I actually like the Sonic X-treme feel to it in some footage. I also dig seeing the cartoon animals, ah good old Classic animals that Sonic use to free from the end of boss capsule. Oh god, someone has done this cover to sum up the trailer lol.

More info: uk.ign.com/articles/2013/05/28/sonic-lost-world-taking-a-page-from-mario-galaxyHonestly, while we haven't seen much of this yet, it's already living up to my biggest fear I had when Sega announced this Nintendo Partnership, namely; "I hope they don't start incorporating simplistic environment designs into the Sonic games". One of the -biggest- draws for me to Sonic has always been the interesting stage tropes and detailed environments, it's been something I consider the series to excel in. Shortly after jumping into bed with Nintendo, we get this cubic, spheroidal, blocky playground revealed to us. It's exactly what I was afraid of. Obviously this doesn't matter in the long run as long as the gameplay is good, which it looks to be, and graphically it does look pretty, in a certain way. But I don't want this to be the new direction for Sonic. The screens on IGN show hills in the background that are nothing short of cylinders. Next thing the clouds and mountains will have smiley faces on them. I loved the lush environments of Generations, and It's made me expect more of it in the future. Also, Green Hill again? Seriously. Combining the simplistic style with the contrast between this and the Green Hill given to us in Generations it further lowers my happiness about the game's style. Other stuff? Sonic the only playable character again. Ugh. Compared to the days of Adventure when my money actually gave me several characters to play with I'm getting really sick of this crap. I don't think they should even be allowed to use their other characters in story scenes if they can't be assed to actually stick them in the game. If they take time to develop gameplay mechanics such as wisp powers and the like, what is so difficult about using those mechanics on a different character model instead? It's laziness. The yellow drill wisp would work perfectly fine as Knuckles, as would the green hover wisp for Tails Now.. I've ranted a fair bit. I guess this just isn't what I expected or wanted after the likes of Generations. And fair enough we know little about the game at this point. I'll be fine if this is a one-off, but I seriously hope this isn't the new norm for the series. Although I'm certain it won't be, because when they find something that works, they go and change it anyway. >_>

Liking the looks of this. The simple environment design really looks deliberate. It's not my favourite; as Hevs says, after Generations this is lacking somewhat, but it's not unappealing either.
I think they're over-complicating things from a design perspective with the different levels of boost, but we'll see how it goes. Either way, it still looks like excellent fun.

The trailer had Cucky and Flicky in it.
Its the best game since Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics.

I saw this late last night. It looks nice, full if nostalgic references. Some of the gameplay looks like Emerald Hill Zone's mobius strips in 3D.
The six look.... interesting..... although I'm wondering where Eggman is!
I'll reserve judgment for now, I can't really get a Wii just now and I'm still playing catchup with the Sonic series.

I'm pretty hyped by this, if only because it's a new direction, without breaking into too uncharted territory. I so far like the aesthetics of it, channelling the mix between classic Sonic and Mario Galaxy (which is a pretty game, and some great designs, you can't deny it ), with the out-of-nowhere Sonic X-Treme throwback. I look forward to it.

Probably why it's called Lost World actually, since it seems to be pulling the old 'lost' game X-Treme back into existence to an extent.
I'm curious about it at any rate *nod* We'll see how it goes :B

I don't know why, but when I saw the female Guardian, she reminds me a bit of Tekno from Sonic The Comic, a tiny bit. Out of all the guardians so far, I like her the most.
