This is apparently the most expensive film ever made. According to a paper a couple of months back, anyway.

I think terminator 3 currently has the record of 180 million dollars from the studio pluss other cash from private investors.

hhm.... i'm positive i've already seen a harry potter thread here before, but whatever. *goes to download the trailer* -edit- Watched the trailer... I wasn't terribly impressed, but that's probably becuase only about 20 seconds was actually footage from the movie and the size of the clip was a bit on the small size. One thing I will say for it: that dragon looks pretty kickass.

I think it was the biggest budget proposed upfront, before filming had started. Presumably T3 had to have extra cash injected as filming went on. hhm.... i'm positive i've already seen a harry potter thread here before, but whatever. *goes to download the trailer* I couldn't be bothered to dig it out.

Lol.
I actually liked the 3rd Harry Potter film. I haven't seen the first, I vaguely remember the second.

Lol. I actually liked the 3rd Harry Potter film. I haven't seen the first, I vaguely remember the second. the third one was quite good. It's the only oe I bought. the first and second were bleeding awful, in my opinion. that's mainly due to the actors having very little experience. There was a VAST improvement in the acting in the third film.

There was a VAST improvement in the acting in the third film. Absolutely. The first one still stands up quite well in my opinion, because it has a certain wide-eyed wonderment about it, like the first book. But the second one, which I really liked when I saw it in the cinema, reveals itself on a second viewing to be a big pile o' poo. The third one's a considerable leap in quality.

I think the teaser was like Bullseye... good yet some what pants at the same time.
the beginning was ok how it showed the characters over the years but it went on for way to long.
then the clips of the film was good but Dumbledoors voiceover wasnt really teaser but more of "Hey this is the exact plot!"
I would have had the teaser going a bit like this...
beginning with Harry in the field of tents at night and everyone running and screaming and these words appearing
"The dark mark has appeared"
then maybe a clip of the muggle who discovers Voldermorts hideout being fried
"The dark lord shall rise"
then maybe some clips of the triwizard tournament. And the other schools arriving
"An ancient tournament begins"
Then a clip of Mad eye moody casting a spell or two.
Finishing with the dragon blowing firetowards harry then going dark as the scream of his name is heard eccoing away.
the final screen would be dark and then these words magically appear on the screen.
"Year 4 begins"
November 2005

That's a way better idea! Warner Bros. ought to release their employment hounds and reel you in. EDIT: Just checked the IMDB, and it appears they've cut the little scene with Ollivander! Come on, John Hurt completely stole the show in Philosopher's with about two minutes' screentime!

Its quite fun to watch the third one back to back with 'Yu Tu Mama' a film by the same director, they have a slightly different, um, tone...

Didn't like the first two films that much, but loved the third one. Werewolves + Time Travel + Gary Oldman = frigging good film! And to be blunt, I'm looking forward to Emma Watson developing into a woman. There I said it. Freedom of speech is a scary thing. Please send hate mail to me by PM, not email - they're easier to ignore that way.

Double post. Sorry. All hate mail to be directed to Jamie. Anyhew, I just thought I'd stick the latest book cover up here - the US deluxe version of Half-Blood Prince. Notable for two things: 1) Unlike the regular US edition, it doesn't look complete ass. 2) Of the four covers so far produced (UK, US, UK adult and US deluxe), three feature Dumbledore. Presumably this means he plays an even bigger role than usual in this 'un - my gut says he's for the chop.

I thought you were older than 17. And what's a bairn? Or did you mean brain lol? You think I'm old? Yeah a bairn is what us people from the proper north not 'Man-south-chester' can use for 'child' or suchlike. The Scotish people use it too. Gotta get on topic.
