Now this is off topic! ;D

Question, did you finish that chapter? If you have, you'll see how it reinforces my tounge in cheek humour point. And yes, that did freak me out to begin with but I couldn't help laughing when I finished it. Not that doing so was too easy - damn floating heads. Yes, I finished every chapter in the game 100%. It just seemed really "wth?" to me. Even if, as you say, it's supposed to be another example of videogame postmodernism (see MGS series) and an outright parody, it was still annoyingly weird. To each his own, though! ;D (edit) What I can't even abbreviate swearwords?

I originally bought my GC not for it being cheap but for the sonic games. I think that you can find as much fun in games with wide adventure fields without it having to be violent. I like my gamecube
BTW: the discs are soooo cute! and I like the menu screen cube thing wiv the calender, gameplay, options and memory card sections.

I think the thing is, is that it's impossible to give EVERYONE what they want with a console. Personally, things like the Mario games and Pikmin do me fine, but other people can't live without controlling a character with a huge gun or a 3000 car-steal quota. Sony is widely more supported at present, so with the more developers on board, there's obviously going to be a wider range of games to answer more people's demands, but you can only do what you can.
I like that some of Nintendo's games do try out something a little new. Don't get me wrong, sometimes things of the same can be good, but there are games that I absolutely adore. Pikmin for example, I didn't really want to try, but I picked up a copy of the first one, and was so hooked, I purchased the second one three days after.
Consoles are really only a matter of opinion, and word of mouth is probably a better way to popularity than anything.

They should not make games with 2 button controls if they want people to buy them.
[Kirby Air Ride] would have been good.

True. Not all of nintendo's decisions and ideas are the best, but they make a helluva lot more good games than bad ones.

I'm sure Zerolus will tell you in great detail. ;D I won't take the thread off-topic by posting the storyline here. So PM me or ask on the "Metroid Prime 2" thread.

heh when pokemon channel came out it was selling for £5 brand new So all the kiddies could instantly afford it. Most people probably only bought it so they could get Jirachi anyway....

Considering I got it neither for my brothers or the Jirachi (and me being an more than just a normal Pokemon Fan), I'd say Pokemon Channel is hardly the best example of a 'Cube game. ^^

Saw this posted on another site earlier today, can't remember which: Meh. Too little, too late if you ask me. I'd rather see it released as a launch title for Revolution and "upgraded" to Mario 256.

Actually, as far as reports for Ninty's plans go for the Revolution - it will be 128 bits too.
"The time when Horsepower meant everything is finished. Now is the time for innovation." A paraphrasing of Satoru Iwata's comments from this year's E3.

A paraphrasing of Satoru Iwata's comments from this year's E3. I think what he meant by that was that the Revolution was focus more on gameplay as opposed to graphics and sound. As far as I'm aware, it's still going to be a 256-bit console. Could be wrong though.

Is there any real need for 256 bits though? The Gamecube, Playstation and X-box are already very powerful machines. I don't really see how doubling the amount of code they can handle is really necessary as there's very little they can do with that power.
It'll more than likely only go up to 256 Bits if they're going to actually use that power - which, may well be possible with Ninty saying the Revolution is going to be a teensy bit different to the norm. Anywhichway - I think it's safer to assume it will remain as 128 Bits for now. No concrete information will float about until May though.

I hope they dont forget the "fun" factor...

I have just spent the last half hour reading this thread and its like being back at school! I learnt loads thanks guys PSP does look like its going to go the way of that Mobile handheld (what was it called? ) it has flaws and they are taking on the masters of handhelds....big mistake. The PSP will do well with loyal sony fans but other than that it will fail, I think the issue is WHY you buy handhelds, I brought the GBA because its fun, I have my cube because I enjoying having fun...naturally its relative for some, killing will be more fun than playing in a fantasy world. PSP is to much like the PS2, its games are similar and thats it's flaw, its only postive is that is portable. The GBA and CUBE are very different same for the DS, its new and fresh. But the Cube still fails. Its lack of RPG's and games that appeal to the "target gamer" that spends the most money, mean it does poorly. The Xbox and PS2 are for "typical lads" and that means it will always outsell the Cube. But I like the idea that I have an amazing system with classics that I could still play in a few years. I even get Banjo out at times LOL ;D

I was re-reading through this thread.
The GameCube has small discs so it will load faster then any other console. The smaller the disc, the less time it will take for the disc reader to scan from the edge to the center.
