Bane, Hugo Strange and Catwoman. Never thought I'd see that mix. Has Strange been confirmed? I thought that was just a (presumably now-discredited) rumour.

Yeah, I think Strange is out of the running now.
Still, he's in Arkham City - so it's not as if he's being completely dumped...

I was a bit apprehensive of hearing about Hathaway as Kyle to start with, as I've only ever seen her do Disney and Romantic movies. After thinking about it though, I think she may be a rather good Catwoman. And Tom Hardy as Bane is fantastic

I had a dream last night that featured a poster for this movie. I didn't recognise the characters, though. (Except Batman, and I think maybe Catwoman was on it too, but it was... ugh, Halle Berry's Catwoman ><) Wow. Reality is becoming like Futurama more and more.

I love how everyone's assuming Hathaway will be playing Catwoman. She's confirmed as being Selina Kyle, who is obviously Catwoman in comics/TV shows/other films, but nowhere in any press statement or document I've seen has she been confirmed as beig Catwoman. It's entirely possible that Hathaway's character in this film is Selina Kyle only, purely Catwoman free, and will either turn in another non-Nolan film, or not at all. It wouldn't be surprising, after all Harvey Dent was in Batman Returns, and didn't turn into Two Face until Batman Forever (when he suddenly went from a black man to Tommy Lee Jones). Maybe the same will happen here, with Selina Kyle being nothing more than a character for Bruce Wayne's life, and Bane being Batman's adversary.

People are using "Catwoman" as a short-hand, that's all. What does it even matter?

Firstly, wouldn't Selina Kyle be a bit of a pointless addition to the cast without becoming Catwoman? It's long since been established that this will be the final part of Nolan's Batman franchise, and a spin-off movie of Catwoman sans-Batman would suck, so without Catwoman there would be no purpose whatsoever to Kyle appearing in "Rises". That'd be like introducing Dick Grayson into the series without ever alluding to him eventually becoming Robin. Secondly, the Harvey Dent point is not a valid one. Dent was in the first Batman film (not Batman Returns) because the original intention was to have him appear at the end of Returns as a nod and a wink to their eventual intentions for the franchise before they then changed their minds and took him out of the script completely.

I dunno, I thought the Spider-Man movies managed alright with having Dr. Connors appear without ever becoming the Lizard. I don't see how a Selina Kyle/Catwoman appearance couldn't work along those lines.

Connors was strictly a minor character though. Hathaway is the leading lady for this film, so it's highly unlikely that Catwoman won't be involved.

...Jean Grey!
Yep.

Apparently he was cheated out of being in Batman and Batman Forever. I hope he gets this role.

Sure, why not? One Hour Photo showed he's capable of being sinister as [censored].
I don't really know the character all that well, but even so - just by looking at Strange - I can't really say there's one definitive actor who could play the guy, so I see no reason why Robin Williams shouldn't at least be considered.

Well, he's worked with Nolan before on Insomnia, and Nolan does like to re-cast people he's used previously...

I'd be less worried about RW as Strange than I am about Hathaway as Catwoman.
