The Dark Knight meant Harvey Dent as well as Batman. The Dark Knight rises means Batman and Bane. I... what? herocomplex.latimes.com/2008/11/17/thors-cartoon-s/And now, we've got the Dark Knight Rises, the Fire Rises, in comparison to the previous film, where two knights fell.

Hey look now there's a trailerBane looks silly. But not as silly as he does in Batman & Robin. Or Arkham Asylum. I don't like Bane, he's a bit rubbish.

Well, the trailer gave away nothing other than that the theme of the movie is that Batman Returns. I swear someone already made that film, it had Catwoman in it with a mutant penguin.
I'll get me coat...

Come on, people. You've barely seen Bane at all and you're criticizing already? At least wait till there's some extensive footage. Besides, he probably hadn't been pumped with Venom in that trailer.

Good to see this is continuing the Nolan tradition of having elocution be optional. I can't understand half of what's being said in the trailer, all I caught of the guy in the hospital's speech was "Batman". As for Bane, I fail to see how anyone can judge, I'm afraid. It's a two-second clip that doesn't even show his full body, and with no context. the best part of the dark knight rises trailer was the bit where harry potter snapped the wand in half i liked that bit the most. I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong movie there. You're thinking of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2".

Who was that guy in the bed, anyway? Was that Gordon? Was it Ra's al Ghul? Or just some nameless extra? :/

I think it was Gordon. As for Bane, I fail to see how anyone can judge, I'm afraid Because I don't like Bane in the first place and I am a man who stands by my prejudices. Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting Nolan to do something interesting and worthwhile with the character. But that is a daft-looking mask.

The big thing with Bane is I think it's extremely unlikely we're going to see him buldge out into a superhuman. Nolan's Batman has always retained a stringent setting in reality. The Scarecrow was just a man with a bag on his head and some hallucinogens, for example.
I think he may get pumped on venom, but it's very unlikely he'll Hulk out.

Super-strength isn't too over-the-top as far as superpowers go (though it depends how super-strong, really). Nolan could get away with Bane having his strength, I think. If he went with someone like Poison Ivy or Clayface, however, then no. That wouldn't fit in at all with the world he's established.

Interesting look. Not too fond of the mask but at least he doesn't look like a WWE reject now. It would have been cool if he had a mask like Scorpius, though.

He looks like a Fighting Vipers character! I kinda like it. Apart from the "NOM NOM NOM" mask. Still.

He looks stupid. How is a Darth Vader muzzle with silly straps stretched round a bald bonce meant to be less silly looking than a Mexican wrestler's mask? One's grounded in reality, the other is bizarre - this time, Nolan's managed to get which one he's meant to be doing completely backwards.

I kinda like it. Apart from the "NOM NOM NOM" mask. Still. Same. I'm not entirely sure what was wrong with just giving him a Luchador-type mask, myself. I mean, it might have made emoting difficult for Tom Hardy, but I can't really see the current mask making things all that easier for him either. I hope he doesn't suffer from ole' Power Rangers syndrome like Willem Dafoe did in Spider-Man. I understand having to alter pre-existing designs as necessary when it comes to movie adaptations (especially the Nolan Bat-films which, occassional bits of super science aside, try to ground themselves as much as possible), but here it strikes me as being change for the sake of change. S'not gonna ruin the movie, but hey it's all we've got to talk about right now so I might as well over-analyse.

That is not Catwoman! That is a generic leather-clad secret-agent-hottie! Come on, guys, was it really that hard to make a mask or some kind of headpiece with cat ears? That's all you needed to do and we'd be happy! DX
