I think Madhair is getting an imported version, but I am not 100% certain.
I too am probably one of the spoilt little children who will be getting both.

But you didn't say that, did you? You in fact said something completely pointless. Although, I don't think Mango's post was moronic. Re-read it, Jamie J. I thought it made some good points. Personally, I'm getting my DS in January or possibly late December. I can't wait. Thanks for the thumbs-up there, madhair. Whilst my post was perhaps a bit heated and passionate about it's subject, I was proving a point. Sony's console, whilst in my opinion probably the inferior one, will sell better because it has the Sony name on it, and because it can play back movies . That's all I was trying to say. I'm not trying to be a moron about it at all. I'm getting mine on import, and don't intend on getting a PSP, since my mum doesn't like me having loads of games consoles. DS games will be region-free, as will PSP ones, but movies for the PSP won't be. So thus ends another of my "moronic" posts, lol.

The PSP to me is like Geography - insignificant in my eyes and I'll put no effort into finding out about it at all.
The DS is much more intriguing in concept. Unfortunately, it doesn't appeal to me. Neither are on my wishlist, though I do wish the best of luck to the dear DS.

I believe that the PSP will win this console war eventually, the DS will be released here first (I believe it's already out in Japan) which will give it a little head start, though i'm not sure how much good it will do in the long term (you saw what the Saturn did with a head start over the playstation). The fact is, is that the PSP I attractive to a wider audience, they don't need to beat Nintendo in the young teens and kids arena since they already have the advantage of having older gamers on their side and with games like Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer, WipEout and (I think) a Metal Gear Solid one, there's not a lot Nintendo can do to beat them into submission since they can't even touch that audience. It will be interesting, it'll be down to whether the PSP can draw enough kids or the DS can draw enough of the older audience that'll swing it, that's what I think anyway. And out of interest, i'm getting a PSP the day that WipEout PURE is released

I believe the DS got released in the US first, for some reason. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it should be out in Japan tomorrow, and Europe in March-ish.

What happened to my last post on this thread? Was there too much bashing? Did it get taken away by the MODs? Or did not post it in the first place? Or did it get wished away by the great orange balls? Balls of power? Balls that could destroy the earth? DRAGONBALLS?!
(See Harry Potter meets Dragonball Z on Newgrounds.com to understand that moronic babble).
I'm getting the DS for certain. You should know why.
I also completly agree with Mango. Even though the DS will have better features, PSP will sell more just because its from the Sony licsence.

Though I started this up, I doubt I'll buy either of them. They both seem like another attempt for Nintendo and Sony to better each other, you know... Nintendo: Ha! We have SNES! It kicks ass! I spit at your rubbish system! Sony: Ha ha! We have PS! I laugh at your pitiful attempts at games! N: Err...ummm... hahaha! We have Advance and XP! I fart at your ridiculous grey box! S: Hahahaha! PS2 laughs at your terrible graphics and scrolling gameplay! N: When the DS comes it will kick... S: ...ass, and PSP will rule all! Me: ...

I think the DS will do better because most people have a GBA.
But the PSP will be right behind it because most people have a PS2 aswell.
What about microsoft are they going to make a handheld?

May I remind people that the only (if any) movie playback on the PSP will be Sony published movies or any movies that would be of relavance to the users of the system.
So that is a load of cheapo cartoon pornography and Tomb Raidier movie I'd bet as well as the Final Fantasy 7 movie.
Whoops. I deleted someone's post as it looked like supershadow had done a double post.
Not my fault it was the similar name, and exact avatar and similar looking signature.

I got my DS in the mail today! It's more awesomely that I imagined it to be! Does this forum have spoiler text? I'll try, but if not, HERE ARE SPOILERS. You may not want to read them: SPOILER ALERT! When you first turn the power on, it asks you what language you want. Then it asks for a nickname (I chose Mango, what else? ), favourite colour (purple, altough may change it to blue), Date, time, and birthday. I can't wait to see what happens on my birthday. Put in my Mario 64 DS cartridge and WHOA has this game had a makeover. It looks better than ever before. People complain about the controls, I'm actually using the standard control system, and am doing quite good with my one star, lol. Loving it. EDIT: I guess it doesn't have spoiler text. But SPOILERS!

I actually got it sent to me from my boyfriend (he lives in California). However, try: buyritegames.com importmadness.com And I think that's all I know for import sites. Also, you'll need to import an adaptor, unless you have a GBA SP, and apparently the adaptor from that works fine. If not, an adaptor can be imported for peanuts from liksang.com, or more specifically: www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=278&products_id=3096&PHPSESSID=7071e00ee512842362ad0e8a01bbf993Good luck! It's worth an import
