From reading those reviews, the DS looks like the old LCD Nintendo games with 2 games, yknow the ones that I mean? If u have a Gamestation near you, have a look in the Retro section, theyll have a museum of all the old consoles and related merch! The PSP does look rather nice, but it looks a bit *too* small. Whats the point in amazing graphics if u cant see them very well? The DS seems to have more in built feature as well...
hmm, I dunno to me it just seems like a revamp of the old cartridges and stuff, like the olde gameboy and game gear. Nice idea, but Im not too keen on it.

To be honest, I like cartridges better. CDs just eventually get dirty and that sometimes messes up the game. Plus you'd have to carry the plastic case around and tha could be easy to lose. With cartridges though, if you want to play a different game, you can just put the cartridge in your pocket and if dust gets up it, you can simply blow it out.
Alright, I just sounded lazy there.

to further my point, id like to say some of the best games ever has [censored]e graphics but super gameplay.
look at starcraft.....
you could probably play that on a gba! it would be damn cool, but with a synatics pointing device like.
sorry, but a handhelp that small is rubbish. you cant play games on something that small. you probably cant hold it. as a matter of fact, you can button mash all you like, yet you will never hit the right one!
being able to play super smash bros on a handheld or banjo kazzoie for that matter makes it a game worth buying.
and if you read, I meant that the DS will have inputs on the gba slot, and the PSP would have cables sticking out of the usb port. you can fix a memory mod or transfer pak into the DS, and yet it wont be on the end of the cable.

I don't care for the DS or the PSP. I'm happy with my GameCube, GBA and PSone (although I don't play that much anymore)

I agree. Handhelds just seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Yes, its nice to carry round a console that fits into pocket well, but is there any point in making them smaller then that?

www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cf6y-oot/umd/fly_005.aviHA, LOOKIT MY PSP DISC FLY The PSP's first batch apparently isn't going too well. They have a rampant dead-pixel problem (even worse than Nintendo's, except Nintendo are willing to send you a replacement DS if your dead pixels bother you, Sony don't care). Don't forget the dust that's under the screen, the bubbled surface of some PSP screens, the ends of the analogue sticks breaking off, and for a game that's graphic intensive (example, Ridge Racer as seen on my flying disc movie): NINETY MINUTES of battery life.

Ouch. Looks like Sony are going to have to come up with something fast. (Reminds me of Gran Turismo 4. I waited two years for that game and when it's finally announced, NO ONLINE SUPPORT! WTH?!)

told you about battery....
man that will hit the psp hard. reminds me of a gasme gear....you just know that that is the killing point. the second people hear about that the DS will go up. the ds has semi decent battery life.
the psp is not going to be worth that kind of money for something like that.

Hello everybody! What's a PSP? What's a DS? PSP: Playstation Portable. Sony's attempt to break into the handheld market. DS: Nintendo DS. Not the new Game Boy, but Nintendo's latest handheld, utilising dual-screens and touch-screen technology. 64 bit. But I'm in no rush to get one.

Zerolus - Carts are cool because of their durability, but eventually they will die out completely They are expensive to produce and hold a LOT less data than a CD Glad you're hanging onto the dream, though

EXPENSIVE DISC GUN...
You know you want it ;D You know you wanna save up all your pay cheques/pocket money to say LOOK AT ME, I HAVE A FANCY 90 MINUTE LIFESPAN DISC FIRING DEVICE.
Maybe they'll improve as more batches come out. I dunno if I mentioned also that they have an even worse dead-pixel problem than the Nintendo DS, except the difference is is that Nintendo are willing to replace your DS free of charge if the pixels prove too annoying, whereas Sony aren't.

Um, can we stop the PSP bashing, please? Just because Sony is having a few problems it doesn't mean that the PSP doesn't still have massive potential.

I'm not saying it doesn't. I'm just saying that at the moment, they're failing to show said potential. Besides, there's been plenty of bashing on the DS as well, but I ain't getting my knickers in a knot about it Mind you, I could..

Come on, a 90 minute battery life is just awful. Honestly. I'm sure the PSP will be the most amazing thing in the world, but with such a small battery life it is unlikely to win the war. Does it have a lithium battery like the SP/DS?

90 minutes? I can't even get into a game in that time. What would happen in those long car journeys, followed by those long plane journeys, followed by those long bus journeys.

Hail to the DS (and eMac) It will probably lose in sales because everyone loves Sony (hissssss), but it will alomost certainly be the best in quality.
