Y'know those educational comics Nigel Kitching and others were working on? Hamlet, Frankenstein and the rest?
Anyone got any info on them? My lecturer is enquiring about them (specifically the Hamlet)

Nigel Kitching had nothing to do with them, it was Nigel Dobbyn who coloured a few. The site is here: www.classicalcomics.com/

Interesting fact. The Joker once appeared in Star Wars comics to menace Princess Leia.

To my shame, I've never read them. I'd like to, but the TPBs seem frightfully difficult to get ahold of.

I've recently started reading the Star Wars comics by Dark Horse, starting with the ones set in the Old Republic. Enjoying them a lot, really good stories and it's making me just want to know more and more about the Star Wars universe. Is anyone reading Green Lantern lately? With the lead up to the Blackest Night? Brilliant stories! Especially Final Crisis - Rage Of The Red Lanterns.

They're both awesome (as are Dark Times and Legacy; haven't read Rebellion, but I understand it's not bad). I also really liked the Tales of the Jedi series written by Kevin J. Anderson in the 1990s.

So I managed to read the whole Batman: War Saga a while back. It was very good. Despite one thing that concerns me(In spoiler-vision): Why exactly would Batman allow access to the Batcomputer thing to anyone other than himself and Oracle? Especially the "War" scenario. War Crimes was disappointing. It needed to be spread out over a few more chapters really and present itself as more of a "fallout" seeing Gotham slowly getting back to normal.

It's the stories that revolve around Naga Sadow, Ludo Kresh, Nomi Sunrider, Ulic and Cay Qel-Droma et al. Loved the stories, didn't want them to finish! I've not read the Knights of The Old Republic stories yet, although I've really wanted to, I've kind of got a backlog of Star Wars comics which I need to read I got a huuuge amount so I need to work my way through them when I next have a day off.

I've been thinking of picking up the recent Tales of the Jedi Omnibus books, but I'm not certain; I have all of the TPBs for that series except for Fall of the Sith Empire and The Freedon Nadd Uprising, so I'm debating on whether or not it's worth it.
The same could be said for the Republic Omnibus TPBs. The thing is, I've got all but one of those released already. That said, though, the Omnibus books do have Star Wars: The Devaronian Version/ Hmmm.

Those stories are fine indeed. I'd encourage you to read the Jedi Academy novels, which are written by the same author and featured the first appearance of Exar Kun in the EU as well. I think I read the ones with Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma becomes his apprentice and then the Jedi unite to take all his power away after Nomi Sunrider does the same to Ulic. Good story. Looking now, the stories went through The Golden Age Of The Sith, right through to The Sithwar and Redemption. Fantastic storylines, I loved how each series was a continuation of the last, that's why I didn't want it to end.

Yeah. Candidly speaking, I actually thought that Redemption was a little disappointing. I'd have liked it if they'd found some way to work Exar Kun into the story. He was the ultimate villain of the series, after all.

Read "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow" last night. Gotta admit, not as good as I had hoped. But the sight of Superman breaking down as he realises that he is going to die really got me.

Oh, and I agree War Crimes was disappointing. I think I said that a few posts back. Besides, it's now rendered pointless... see my rant a few posts ago. I just read Joker HC. Really recommend it to everyone. It's like Goodfella's Batman style. And I can't help notice the Joker was drawn like Heath Ledger, and is it just me or did the Riddler look like Johnny Depp?

He was the ultimate villain of the series, after all. I agree, for the most part it was slow but I thought the ending was fitting with Ulic re-establishing his connection with the Force to become one with it. It would have served better as just an epilogue to the previous story, not another five issue series.

Mark Millar talks about Ultimate Avengers.I am excited beyond the capacity for rational thought. Doe that make me a bad person?

Leinil Yu will draw an arc of it
although other than the artists I struggle to understand what's to be excited about. I mean it's Millar again. writing more Ultimates. what, the first two volumes weren't boring enough for you?

The new Top Ten series is pretty good.
The P Craig Russel adaptation of Dream Hunters is good too.
RASL has started to pick up speed (and Jeff Smith draws hot girls, who knew?)
Love and Rockets: New Stories vol. 1 contains the best superhero story I've read in aaagess.
I completely lose interest in any part of Final Crisis that isn't drawn by J G Jones (I actually do like Carlos Pacheco's artwork but it just doesn't work the same for me).
I read an old trade of Spider-Man (Happy Birthday, I think) recently and decided that I never need to read anything written by JMS again.
While I didn't think All Star Superman was as good as everyone says it was still pretty damn good.
Tezuka's Dororo is beyond awesome.
The Pokemon manga is really sweet and fun (shut up).
And I think we're all caught up.

Currently reading The Long Road Home, the second series of Dark Tower adaptations. Not as good as Gunslinger Born in my opinion (which ruled, although not as much as the book, but that's cos the book is amazing) but still pretty good. Looking forward to Treachery.

Catching up time: Batman: Year One: Ras Al Ghul. Very enjoyable read. Batman: Dark Knight Strikes Again: Fank Miller continues the skirt the edge between greatness and insanity. Mostly insanity but it works. Kingdom Come: AKA Watchmen with Superheroes. Seriously, great read but it has the sense of deja vu about it. Nemi: Vol 1: Anyone else read Nemi? Just pure fun. Seeing as the 3 for 2 deal is still going at Waterstones I'm thinking about getting some more while they are going cheapish. I was thinking about: All Star Batman and Robin, Halo (Someone bought it though), Wonder Woman: The Circle, There was an Xmen book which was a whole arc cant quite remember it, plus some others
