Someone just told me the end of the new book and it's laughable, it really is. To each their own. I like it.

Bear in mind what I heard about the ending is second hand information off someone who doesnt like me too much so it could be a great epic ending I dont know, plus she said she read the back page to get her info so it might be mis-interpreted info.

She may have been referring to the epilogue, which I didn't think much of either. But the ending to the main story itself was sublime, IMO.

While I'm certainly no fan of these books, I do have to admit that prior to it all ending up in the limelight, I was scared that novels were dying in popular culture, so it's very reassuring that people are reading fiction in the mainstream again.
I just hope people don't limit their own scope too narrowly!

Saw the movie today.
Loved it, although it's not the best of the series by any means, and felt very filler. It was far better then the first two and Goblet in any case, and earns second place behind only Prisoner of Azkaban.
It needed more substance, but I like the way Yates did the movie.

I actually imagined John Rhys-Davies as Slughorn while reading the last two books. Ah well. I'm not complaining.
Jim Broadbent sounds familiar. What roles in acting is he most known for?

He was Inspector Frank Butterman in Hot Fuzz, and the father in the Borrowers movie. Thats all I can think of right now. I know he's in the new Indiana Jones film too.

He was the owner of the club in Moulin Rouge. There was a scene where he sang Like A Virgin while wearing a wedding dress.

Didn't he also voice Brian in the Magic Roundabout film? Yep. Also: Chronicles of Narnia, Bridget Jones, Gangs of New York, Iris, Bright Young Things, Brazil, Superman 4, Time Bandits, etc, etc, ad infinitum. He so ace.

I can see the pickets now: "God Hates JK!" and "[censored] Occultist Dumbledore!" are among the most likely.

The Mule is correct.
Why does anyone care? All she did was ensure a legion of fan ficers can back up their Snaplemore fics. Which she even mentioned!
Its just an attempt to stay in the public eye.

Maybe you underestimate the fanaticism of some fans? I've seen Star Wars fans, for example, who believe that George Lucas had "no right" to bring midi-chlorians or purple lightsabers into the storyline, because "it's not his choice to make."

Worst thing is those badly written fan fics (eg My Immortal, by Tara Gilesbie, and the various slash which will, now inevetably, arise. Like a zombie.). Those really piss me off.

:oJesus. Well that was unexpected. I'm now sensing some individuals' ideologies of Dumbledore having an unhealthy facination with Harry are going to come more to light now. Not to mention all the Dumbledore and Harry gay encounters that are going to be thought. XD As if there wasn't enough of that already. XD For all of you who don't know I am a huge obssessive fan of Harry Potter. XD I am utterly shocked, there were no clues to his sexuality at all. If anybody else loves Harry Potter. What are your thoughts? Did anyone have an inkling of this? Plus, all those who despise/dislike Harry Potter what are you thoughts on this? o.O

Well the fans that have a problem with this are pretty much screwed. They can swear under their breath until they are blue in the face but it's tough cookies because none of them are J.K. Rowling.
They can complain and even send her hate-mail but they can't do sod all about it. They're just gonna have to live with it.

Well, in the last book, Skeeter did bring up his *ahem* relationship with Harry, and siad there was something dodgy about it. Now, that was probably siad to discredit him, but the best way to lie is to include an element of truth.
Haven't you heard of book 8? Harry Potter and the Sexual Harrasment case.
He takes on Zombie Dumbledore, claiming he touched his "wand".
